The NFL divisional round of the playoffs kicks off today and we look to the primetime Saturday night matchup for player prop value. The Eagles host the Giants for their 3rd matchup in the last 6 games. Check out Giants RB Saquon Barkley. Currently, oddsmakers have his O/U at 65.5 rushing yards and 28.5 receiving yards.
Philly knows coming into this game one of the keys to winning is shutting down #26. They did this successfully in the only game Barkley played against the Eagles this season as they held him to 9 rushes for just 28 yards in week 13. The Eagles have the #2 defense in total yards allowed/game. Over the last 6 games, they’ve allowed the lead opponent RB to 49.8 rushing yds/game. However, they have been susceptible to quarterbacks on the ground so look for QB Daniel Jones to be active scrambling as he did successfully last week against Minnesota. With the Eagles being heavy favorites (-7.5) the Giants will likely have to open up the passing game early, limiting Barkley’s opportunities on the ground. Philly is ranked in the top 10 at stopping the run at home and will be fired up tonight after a bye week. In 8 games since November 20th, Saquon has only hit this yardage number twice, meaning the under would’ve gone 6-2 (75%) as he averaged 54 rushing yds/game during this stretch. Teams have focused on shutting him down and the Giants schematically have become more versatile. Expect the same tonight in a physical game!
Take Saquon Barkley UNDER 65.5 rushing yards for a winner!
