Monday Night Football brings us a very intriguing matchup as the New England Patriots are 2-point favorites against the Cardinals.
Let’s lock in on some player prop value. Oddsmakers currently have the line for Cardinals RB James Conner listed at O/U 60.5 rushing yards and O/U 18.5 receiving yards. We expect that it will be tough sledding tonight for Arizona on the ground. They simply haven’t ran the ball effectively all season as their leading rusher only has 476 yards. Conner is that man and he averages just 52.9 yds/game. The Pats are so tough up front on defense and we don’t see there being much for running lanes tonight. Line functionality: Conner had his best game of the week last week as he ran for 120 yards against the Chargers. Yet, oddsmakers place value on the under tonight, lowering his line after last week because of the stiff run defense of New England. Schematically, the Patriots will control the ball by running it themselves and using an effective, short passing game, limiting Arizona’s opportunities. The Pats are ranked 7th in time of possession in road games. Conner has only surpassed 60.5 rushing yards twice in 9 games this season, meaning this number has hit the under 78% of the time.
We’ve cashed the under for the lead running back facing New England the last two weeks and we are going to hit it again tonight – Take James Conner UNDER 60.5 rushing yards!
