Celtics took care of business in the first 3 games of the series as they held Mavs to under 100 points in all 3. Game 3 in Dallas left us with the big ‘what if’ of the series as Luka Doncic fouled out in a one-possession game with over 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter as Celtics went on to win 106-99. Game 4 was a completely different story as the Mavericks put on an absolute beatdown to keep the series alive, they beat the Celtics 122-84 on their home floor and the game was over by halftime as Dallas led by 26 points. Boston was undefeated on the road this playoffs entering that game and had won 10 straight overall but were held to 36% from the floor including 14/41 from 3 but that isn’t where they lost the game. Mavs dominated the paint, out rebounding the C’s 52-31 and the paint scoring was 60-26. Derrick Lively became the first rookie with back to back double-double’s in the Finals since Magic Johnson as he notched 11 PTS 12 REB off the bench. Luka and Kyrie combined for 50 PTS on 50% shooting and Jrue Holiday for the Celtics who has been so key defensively guarding the Dallas backcourt set an NBA Finals worst record with a -38 for the game. 

So the big question in Game 5, do the Mavs have momentum or the do the Celtics come for revenge?

Free Prediction: Celtics First Half -4 

I believe the answer is both, Mavs might make this a close game down the stretch and hang within the number but Celtics are too good of a team for there not to be IMMEDIATE regression in the opening quarters of Game 5 tonight. 

Look for the best team in the NBA to come out making a statement back on their home floor. In the 2 Games in Boston so far in this series Celtics have led by a combined 24 points at the half, and we should see the same intensity to open up this game tonight.
