Put the non-conference schedule behind us, let the real games begin.  Today marks the start of the Big Ten Conference, both teams come into the matchup on a three game winning streak.

In my opinion, these teams look much closer on paper than they really are.  Maryland comes into the game ranked 56th in the KenPom (KP) rankings vs an Iowa team come in ranked 22nd in the KP rankings.

Maryland has not played a road game as they come into Iowa City where the Hawkeyes have posted a comfortable 8-1 home record.  Maryland has had much of their success against Quad 3 and 4 teams posting 7 of their 8 overall wins. 

Danny Manning has posted a 3-1 overall record since taking over as head coach, but I don't like they haven't traveled into the building of their opponent all season long which won't sit well for the Terps.

Let's take a look at line functionality and some historical figures.

There is no way that Iowa should be favored by 8.5 in this spot, it should be closer to 5.5.  Looking at the figures this year, Strength of Schedule, Quadrant wins, or other key factors.  We love line functionality when the books put more value on the game then should be there.  Iowa wins this game by double digits.
