Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1, 55.5) @ Los Angeles Rams
September 26, 2021
4:25pm EST on FOX
The Los Angeles Rams host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 4:25 PM Eastern Time, 1:25 Pacific Time. After a 27-24 road victory against the Colts, the Rams head into the game 2-0. The Buccaneers also improved to 2-0 after a 48-25 blowout at home against the Falcons. The Rams look for their third 3-0 start in the last four seasons, while the Buccaneers look to reach that mark for the first time in 16 years. The Buccaneers are a 1-point favorite with an over/under of 55 ½.
Tom Brady is looking anything but a 45-year-old The future Hall of Famer has completed over 65 percent of his passes for 655 and nine touchdowns. In typical fashion, Brady has masterfully spread the wealth with Rob Gronkowski, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin each with at least two touchdowns. Add in Antonio Brown and Leonard Fournette, and the five have a combined 48 catches for 584 yards and nine touchdowns. The ground game has left something to be desired, averaging only 67 yards per game. Fournette leads the way with 84 yards and a solid 4.2 average per carry.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Buccaneers are allowing nearly 400 yards and 27 points per game. Lavonte David and Devon White have combined for 35 tackles. The team has only two sacks, but on a positive note, the Buccaneers have been opportunistic, having intercepted four passes, returning two for touchdowns, both by safety Mike Edwards.
For the Rams, the offense has run smooth as silk behind quarterback Matthew Stafford. He’s completed nearly 70 percent of his passes for 599 yards and five touchdowns. The primary targets who could create havoc in the Tampa Bay secondary are Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, and Robert Woods. Kupp has been outstanding early, hauling in 16 for 271 yards and three touchdowns. The trio has torched defenses for 456 yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, the Rams are averaging a mediocre 87.5 yards per game, led by Darrell Henderson’s 123 with two touchdowns. Defensively, safeties Taylor Rapp and Jordan Fuller have a combined 37 tackles. The Rams have gotten great pressure up front, sacking opposing quarterbacks six times, forcing quarterbacks into throwing three interceptions.

The Buccaneers are 1-1 against the spread this season. The Rams are also 1-1 against the spread this season. The total has hit over in both of the Rams’ games as well as in both of Tampa Bay’s games.
What to watch is the play on both lines. After all, most games are won in the trenches. Tom Brady has a knack of getting rid of the ball before pressure arrives, although he’s already been sacked three times in two games. Tampa Bay needs to keep the fearsome Rams’ defensive front off Brady. On the flip side, pressure is needed on Matthew Stafford or it will be a long game of pitch and catch between him and the likes of Kupp, Woods, and Jefferson.
