He was picking up momentum prior to his last start but putting the rookie in a tough spot on short notice might’ve killed any confidence that was built. 

Chris Flexen (2-6 5.35 ERA) he’s had an up and down season but the Sox have had no success behind him as they are just 2-11 in his 13 starts this season. His last time out was cracked for 6 runs (4 Earned) off 9 hits across 3.1 IP in a 7-1 loss at Arizona. He’s been even worse at home this season going 1-3 5.70 ERA and he has 19 walks compared to just 7 on the road. His career vs Houston isn’t any better going 1-6 4.71 ERA in 9 outings.
