Rudy Gobert OVER 13.5 Rebounds

Value pops in tonight’s primetime NBA matchup. We look to a player prop with a great matchup and an injury scenario to take advantage. Timberwolves new acquisition at center, Rudy Gobert, has been a welcome force on the defensive end and rebounding contributions. His total rebounds O/U sits at 13.5. While this may seem like a ton for most players, it’s common to easily surpass this number for Gobert, currently the #1 rebounder in the NBA averaging 14.7 rebounds/game. Gobert has cleared this number in 4 of 7 games. He has hit it by a mile on several occasions, posting games with 16, 21, and 23 rebounds already this year. In a projected close game (Suns favored by 4) we should see a lot of playing time for Gobert, plenty of highly contested shots leading to rebound scenarios, and potentially even overtime for more statistical opportunity.

Underlying advantage: Suns starting center Deandre Ayton is out tonight with an ankle injury, leading to Bismack Biyombo and Jock Landale taking over the big-man duties. Neither snagged many rebounds in Ayton’s only missed game thus far against Houston. Gobert’s O/U line has typically been 14.5 on the season. Because he’s had a couple games with lower totals oddsmakers adjusted it down.
