Pay attention to the big matchup out west as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the defending champion Golden State Warriors. The Lakers feature their “big three” of Lebron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. In three injury-plagued seasons with LA, Anthony Davis has played only 46 games/year. In those seasons, he’s averaged 9.3, 7.9, and 9.9 rebounds per game, respectively. Because of this statistical drop, oddsmakers have his rebound prop tonight at O/U 9.5 rebounds. AD has just not looked the same since his bubble performance in 2021. But…Davis can surpass this rebound number EASILY. Expect him to go way into double digits against a relatively undersized Warriors team. After his rookie year, he averaged between 10 and 12 rebounds/game for his entire time in New Orleans. The Lakers want to prove that they are for real this year so we can expect a lot of minutes out of their stars. Last season the Warriors allowed 51.2 rebounds per game. Davis will secure at least 20% of those and cover the 9.5 line.
